Bachelor's tuition (non-EU) is NOK 130,000–220,000/yr and master's tuition (non-EU) is NOK 150,000–320,000/yr (approx. €11,000–28,000); the semester fee is ~NOK 700; proof of funds required is ~NOK 137,907/yr; estimated monthly cost of living total is ~NOK 12,000 (students need NOK 12,000–15,000/month).
Language requirements
Bachelor's applicants need 12 years of schooling plus, often, one year of study, and IELTS 6.0–6.5 or TOEFL; IELTS 6.5 is required for most master's programmes.
Visa
The visa process involves securing an admission letter, showing proof of funds of ~NOK 137,907 for the year, arranging health insurance, applying for a student residence permit, providing biometrics at a VFS centre, and registering after arrival. Since autumn 2023, non-EU students pay tuition at Norwegian public universities.
Post-study work rights
Graduates can obtain a 1-year Post-Study Permit (residence permit to seek work after study), with a route to convert to a work permit once employed. Students may work up to 20 hours a week during term time with a work permit.
